A tidy home for the DeWalt DCW620 router in a Systainer³ M 337.

The router sits in a Kaizen foam base, with a special Kaizen foam lid insert up top to cradle the tall part of the router so nothing shifts in transit. An MDF divider across the back keeps the base plate and wrench in their own spot.

In the owner’s words: “DeWalt router DCW620. Still have a space for extra battery, charger and edge guide.”

I had used a Pelican 1535 AIR case as a camera case for quite a while, but since I never flew with it and rarely rolled it like a carry-on, I realized I was needlessly carrying the weight of the extendable handle and wheels around.

I saw a Systainer Store YouTube video making a Systainer³ L 187 into a camera case and was inspired to make a camera case of my own.

I wanted my lenses to fit in the case vertically and had more of them than the video, so I decided to use a Systainer³ L 237 instead.

Materials were:

• Pelican TrekPak Divider Kit for Pelican 1510 Case
• Pelican TrekPak Extra Divider Kit for Pelican 1510 Case
• Systainer³ L Kaizen Foam Base Layer - 30 mm (black/white)

I had to modify the TrekPak perimeter kit to accommodate the interior of the Systainer³ L 237, but since the basic dimensions of the L 237 and the Pelican 1510 are quite close, it didn’t take too long.

The only modification I needed to make to the Kaizen foam was to cut out a circle within one of the bays as the lens was a little too tall for the lid to close properly with the lens cap sitting on the foam. With the foam cut out, the lens cap fit into the recessed area and the lens fit perfectly.

I was able to use areas beyond the TrekPak perimeter to hold cables and other items, and ended up with a case weighing about six pounds less than the Pelican 1535 AIR I had been using and am very pleased with the result.

I work at the Kansas City Woodworkers’ Guild, a communal shop. I use Systainers to keep things organized.

I use a couple of XXL for the base. The 337 holds various table saw blades, larger router jigs, and little-used tools. The 237 holds my bench planes and joinery planes. The other M sizes hold Festool machines or task specific tools like for veneer work, gold leaf, or sharpening.

I used the Rigid Pick & Pluck foam to keep the plane from banging around as well as the Soft Base Foam to protect the Systainer from sharp plane irons.

I also have Systainers on my shop cart keeping frequently used small hand tools close by.

What’s great about using the Systainer system is everything has a place and it’s easy to find the right tool. Storage is a breeze, just pack it up and roll to my storage area.

One system. For everything. For everyone. Systainer USA.

Anyone can do a fitout. Anyone.

That’s the job this one’s here to prove. Not “how to build the ultimate kaizen system” — just: take the drill that’s currently rattling around in a bag or a drawer, and give it a home that looks like you meant it.

This fitout has:

1x Systainer³ L 187

1x Vaulted Lid Foam

1x M Kaizen Base Layer 57 mm

1x M Kaizen Universal Layer

Stored inside: a Ryobi cordless drill, charger, and drill bits — each with its own place, nothing loose, nothing sliding around when the case gets picked up.

No guesswork on layout. Just four parts that stack together and a drill that finally has a home. That’s the whole job — take one tool that’s currently a mess, and make it look like it was never anything else.

When the power goes out — or when there’s no power to begin with — the job isn’t “own a generator.” The job is having power show up quietly, cleanly, and exactly where you need it, whether that’s a job site with no hookup or a kitchen counter during an outage.

This mobile power unit is built for that job. An extruded aluminum frame rides on a standard hand truck, so it moves like a piece of equipment instead of a fixed installation.

Power is stored in a BigBattery Husky 2, a rugged 48V DC LiFePO4 battery with 5.12kWh of capacity — built to take the knocks of mobile use, not just sit in a closet.

Turning that stored power into usable AC is the EG4 6000XP inverter, capable of two legs of 120V AC in a split-phase setup. It also accepts a generator input, so it can charge the battery or pass power through directly when needed. Above the inverter, a panel houses the AC input and output connections.

It won’t run indefinitely the way a fuel generator will. But it’s quiet, it delivers clean power, and it doesn’t ask you to store gasoline or listen to an engine to get it.

The last piece of the job is the one people forget until they need it: cords and adapters. That’s where the Systainer³ M 237 comes in, mounted below in the rack. When the power’s out and you need to get something running, you’re not digging through a bin for the right adapter — it’s stored right where the unit lives, ready to go with it.

When it’s not on the move, the whole system charges from a solar array — so it’s ready before you ever need it.

Compact storage for power distribution on site and around the home.

Every job has a moment before the job — the part where you’re not building anything yet, you’re just trying to get power where it needs to be. A cord’s tangled in the truck bed. The only outlet is buried under a tarp. Someone’s holding a trouble light in one hand and hunting for a GFCI with the other.

That’s the job the Power Pak was built to solve: get power out of storage and into use, in seconds, without babysitting a cord.

The Klearline Powerpak started the way the best Systainer builds do — a user needed something that didn’t exist yet. Not “a power solution” in the abstract, but a specific answer to a specific frustration: store the extension cord, protect the connections, and present multiple outlets the moment you open the lid.

Built in a Systainer³ M 337, it stores a full extension cord and presents up to six outlets, with a power indicator so you know it’s live before you plug in a single tool.

Interested in one for yourself? Let the designer know through this form.

That’s the job done: no reel to crank, no cord to uncoil across a muddy site, no guessing whether the circuit’s hot. Open it, plug in, work.

And because it’s a Systainer, it’s never just a power box. It locks into the stack on your truck or cart, rides alongside the rest of your gear, and stores the same way it deploys — fast, and without a second thought.

Compact storage for power distribution on site and around the home.
