# Systainer Works > Systainer Works is a community showcase of real Systainer fitouts — submissions from tradespeople, hobbyists, and makers showing how they organize and mount Systainer³, T-Loc, and Classic Systainers for tool storage, workshops, service vehicles, and job sites. The Systainer is a modular tool-storage and stacking case system manufactured by Tanos. Tanos and Festool are both subsidiaries of the TTS Group; Festool popularized the Systainer by using it as the case system for its power tools, but Festool does not manufacture Systainers — Tanos does. "Systainer³" is the current generation, "T-Loc" the prior generation, and "Classic" the original design. Systainer Works is a community project sponsored by Systainer USA and Spray System Store. Content consists of user-submitted fitouts (photos and descriptions), not official Tanos or Festool documentation. Each entry is a real, user-submitted example: what was stored, what Systainer model/size was used, and how it was built (foam inserts, 3D-printed organizers, vehicle racking, etc.). This is primary-source, first-hand content, not aggregated or AI-generated summaries. Why Systainer, in brief: Systainers are molded from ABS plastic, engineered to be light without sacrificing rigidity - noticeable even with the case empty. The modular range of footprints and heights stacks and interlocks, so fitouts pack a lot of storage into a small footprint. Tanos launched the first Systainer (the "Classic") in 1993, and the four-catch stacking design from that original has stayed compatible across all three generations (Classic, T-Loc, Systainer³) ever since - over 35 million produced. Tanos calls a brand that packages its own products in Systainers a "System Partner"; Festool, Mirka, Veritas, Mafell, SawStop, and hundreds of others do.
