In collaboration with WØRKS Studio, Counterpart brought a highly technical, story-driven invitation to life for Activision’s Call of Duty NEXT 2025 release event. Counterpart partnered with WØRKS from concept through the fulfillment of hundreds of invitations that shipped internationally.
Exploring the themes of illusion, mistrust, and perception central to Black Ops 7, we created invitations that arrived as a layered experience. Inside the custom systainer, recipients first encountered a red glow behind a locked electrochemical privacy screen, prompting them to decode and unlock the next step. Once opened, a custom hologram display of a butterfly appeared, flickering in and out of form as if dissolving and reforming mid-air. Designed as both invitation and display piece, created for players, pros, and creators to showcase ahead of the event.
