Two Generations of Mafell Cases on One Shelf
Fitout By Mafell
Mafell, System Partners, Trade Show, IWF, systainer T-Loc Generation, Systainer³ Generation, Light Grey Systainer, Hot Stamp Name
Mafell has been building portable woodworking machines in Oberndorf am Neckar since 1899, and they are known for their saws. This is their booth at IWF 2026.
Underneath the saws is the part we came for: a row of light grey cases with red catches, in several different heights.
Two generations on one shelf
Most of them are systainer T-Loc cases — Mafell calls those T-MAX — but the one in the middle of the second photo is a generation newer, molded MAX3, with the rounded Systainer³ catch instead of the T-Loc’s T-shaped one. Both sit on the same shelf and stack on each other, which is the point. The T-Loc and the Systainer³ share the same 396 x 296 mm footprint and stack together on the same rails, so a Mafell case sits on a Festool one without an adapter and always has. A brand can move generation without stranding a single case it already sold — which is why a shelf like this one looks unremarkable instead of like a transition.
The open one on the right shows the arrangement: black foam routed to the saw’s outline, and a printed card in the lid — this one for the KSS 40 18M bl cross-cutting system — with the product photo and the setup diagram. The red catch and the mafell logo stamped in red across the lid are the only parts of the case that are Mafell’s, and they are enough: you can pick their case out of a stacked wall from across a booth.
One system. For everything. For everyone.
