Rolling a Tool Kit into Guitar Class at Marc Adams

Fitout By Steve I. Design

Festool, Festool Systainer, Systainer³ Sortainer, Anthracite Systainer, Systainer³ XXL 337, SYS-RB Cart, Woodworking, Mobile Workshop

A Festool SYS-RB cart loaded two stacks wide, two light grey Sortainers on top, anthracite TANOS Systainer³ cases below them and a Systainer³ XXL 337 at the base, parked beside a Lie-Nielsen workbench on the shop floor at the Marc Adams School of Woodworking

Steve Iadarola, woodworker, photographer and one of the voices on the Creative Makers Podcast, signed up for an acoustic guitar class at the Marc Adams School of Woodworking in Franklin, Indiana. A class away from home means bringing your own tools, and the problem is the one every traveling woodworker knows: getting a shop’s worth of hand tools from the truck to the bench without a dozen trips.

His answer rolls. A Festool SYS-RB cart at the bottom, a Systainer³ XXL 337 for the big items, anthracite Systainer³ cases above it, and Sortainers on top, in two-drawer and three-drawer sizes, for the small parts and the things you reach for all day. One push from the parking lot, and the whole kit is parked at the end of the bench.

The loaded SYS-RB cart parked at the end of a Lie-Nielsen workbench that holds a plywood guitar body mold, with a blue Marc Adams School of Woodworking stool in the foreground and rows of student benches behind

One system. For everything. For everyone.
