A Painter's Spray Guns in a Sortainer³

Fitout By Alexpainting

Festool, Systainer³ Sortainer, 3D Print, Spray Gun, Painter

A three-drawer Festool Sortainer, open, showing green 3D-printed inserts holding airless spray guns and accessories

Alexander sprays for a living — Alexpainting is his professional airless painting business — and every job means the same stack of gear riding along: guns, tips, tip guards, filters. Keeping all of it organized, and not rattling around loose, on the job site is the whole problem this Festool Sortainer³/3, and his other systainers, solves.

I’m a Festool fan. I have a lot of Festool equipment.
— Alexander

Rather than settle for stock dividers, Alexander designs and 3D-prints his own inserts for each drawer — nesting cutouts sized to the exact tools that live there. The top drawer holds two guns side by side, a Titan RX-Pro and a Wagner Vector Pro, each dropped into its own cradle with room alongside for spare tips.

The middle drawer is built the same way, this time for a third gun alongside a full set of tips and their reversible guards — the colorful star-shaped pieces that protect a fresh tip’s spray pattern until it’s mounted on the gun.

It’s a system built the way the Sortainer is meant to be used — one drawer, one job, everything in its place — and it travels stacked with the rest of his Festool gear between sites. Alexander also designs and sells his own 3D-printed systainer inserts; see more of his work and reach out through his socials if you’re after one for your own stack.

One system. For everything. For everyone.
